gonnabeahero: (Won't get out alive)
[personal profile] gonnabeahero

character; Zack Fair
series; Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
age; 23 (although he won't realize that)
class; Knight / Blue Mage. I was going to go with "Red Mage," BUT, the wiki points out something: Zack's limit breaks in CC are based off other people's abilities or attacks. SO. Blue Mage makes more sense to me. If you disagree, I can make it Red Mage instead.
special abilities;
Zack, like all SOLDIERs, has been infused with mako energy. This gives him enhanced strength, endurance, and agility.

He also has several limit breaks. Since these are influenced by the people around him, I would use them in-game ONLY if the people responsible for said influence were around. (As such, as some of the mentioned characters are not at Time and Tides, Zack won't be able to use some/many of these skills. I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE.)

Chain Slash - Physical attack. Zack can use this without help.

Octaslash - Sephiroth-influence. Eight physical attacks in rapid succession.

Rush Assault - Angeal-influence. Fifteen physical attacks, not just one target (up to three targets, actually). May stun enemies.

Air Strike - Tseng-influence. Physical attack that hits all enemies.

Lucky Stars - Cissnei-influence. Causes critical hits (Zack hits harder, hurrhurr).

Healing Wave - Aerith-influence. HEALS ALL THE THINGS

Meteor Shots - Cloud-influence. Rocks fall everybody dies sort of thing. (Or, basically, a magical attack.)

history; Hey, would you say I became a hero?

personality;
Zack is a very open person. He's friendly, eager, and wants to make people happy. He often comes across as being entirely not serious, because he's often lighthearted in situations that others wouldn't be. His ability to make friends is one of his greatest strengths; his own natural friendliness even enabled him to get close to General Sephiroth, after all. Zack is someone who will offer a smile easily, even in a dire situation, and who will always strive to protect people around him. He has seemingly boundless amounts of energy, which sometimes leads him to act younger than he is.

Zack has a tendency to be totally reckless, especially with himself. While he's not exactly full of himself, he's proud of his accomplishments and abilities, and he trusts in that more than is necessarily good for him. He also tends to rush in without thinking. It's not that he's not able to strategize - it's just his natural tendency to be impulsive. It gets him into sticky situations as often as not.

Zack puts a lot of stock in friendship. He believes in his friends. He wants to protect them, and will do so absolutely selflessly. He's willing to sacrifice himself and take insane risks for the people he cares about. Losing them is a serious fear that he has, and he will work against that fear. He really doesn't want to have anyone close to him hurt, or sick, or dead.

Despite his ease with making friends, he feels the closest to only a few people. He trusts these few (Cloud, Sephiroth, and Angeal are among them) with his life. If anything were to happen to a friend, it would be unbearable for Zack.

Zack believes in honor, and he wants more than anything to be a hero. He's never forgotten Angeal telling him that heroes need to have dreams and honor, so he sticks to it. He idolized Sephiroth, and even after the incident in Nibelheim, he has enormous amounts of respect for the man. He still has respect for Angeal, as well, though he knows he probably shouldn't. He holds his honor close, and tries to stick to his morals no matter what. This makes him incredibly stubborn. Once he gets an idea into his head, boy, good luck making him think otherwise or talking him out of it!

When Zack does get down about something, it's pretty dire, and he's hard to pull back up again. He can stay in a funk for ages once he gets there. In these rare times, he's broody and quiet, and doesn't offer his winning smile as often. Luckily, these times are pretty rare.

Zack is often inspiring to others. Other members of SOLDIER look up to him. He doesn't have an ego or anything because of it, though; it's just something that comes natural to him. It's easy for him to inspire people because of the way he lives, and because of his sincerity. He would never think of himself as a great inspiration; he would tell you he's just doing what he has to do.

Zack does have a temper, and can spout off at the mouth if he's angry or annoyed. He's not mean, but it goes along with that "doesn't think before acting" part of his personality. He's likely to just say something without thinking, as well. He may fly off the handle, though, if someone does something he considers completely dishonorable (like when he freaked out and punched Angeal after he discovered him with his dead mother).

point in canon; Just after meeting Cissnei on the beach (this is four years after the incident in Nibelheim with Sephiroth). Zack has NO IDEA he was asleep for four years at this point.
place of arrival; I…don't have a preference actually. Anywhere but Lindblum, I think! o7
starter task?; SURE

first person sample;
http://dear-mun.livejournal.com/37313741.html?thread=1110173901#t1110173901 and http://dear-mun.livejournal.com/37329832.html?thread=1110177192#t1110177192 and here.

Hope those are enough! If not, I will take a Q/A please.

third person sample;
Zack's eyes finally cleared. His head was still fuzzy from being trapped in that tube. How long had it been, anyway? Had to have been hours. It was probably days. Could it have been weeks? Man. Things were worse than he'd thought. He hadn't wanted to believe that things were really that rotten, but…

Oh, he didn't have time for this! Cloud was still in trouble. Zack felt mostly okay himself, but Cloud wouldn't even respond. He was worried. They had to get out of here, and the faster the better. If the ShinRa guys were to come back, he didn't know if they could get away. He had to protect Cloud no matter what, because it was his fault Cloud was here. And Cloud had…saved him…hadn't he?

"Damnit," he muttered into the (thankfully) empty room. He thought he saw a flash of white out of the corner of his eye, and turned. A feather, right? So that meant…

But no. It was just a piece of paper. There weren't really any feathers, here. Angeal was…

"Angeal. What do I do? I've got to…"

There was a sound from the hallway. Okay, enough wishing someone was going to save him. He was the hero, after all! He had to do the saving! And right now, the person most in need of saving was still Cloud.

He turned towards Cloud's apparently catatonic form. "All right, buddy, we are so outta here. Just…you gotta wake up once we get out, okay? You gotta get better, and we'll show those guys together."

He sounded cheerful, but part of him was still really worried. Mako poisoning could be really really nasty. He'd have to get Cloud to someone who could check him out. But! First things first!

He picked Cloud up, a little surprised at how easy it still was, got his bearings, and headed for the nearest door. He hoped there weren't too many people barring his way. He didn't want to fight if he didn't have to. Not right now. Right now, he just wanted to get out, and see what had become of everything. Things sure were a mess, but he couldn't give up hope - especially not when someone needed him.
